Introductory Nuclear Educational Material
The Essential CANDU - a CANDU Textbook - UNENE is pleased to host "The Essential CANDU" textbook, developed jointly with the CANDU Owners Group. The textbook explains the science and engineering of nuclear reactors, with emphasis on the CANDU design; and provides a unique and comprehensive learning resource for students, educators, trainers and working professionals. The material is suitable for the senior undergraduate or graduate level in university engineering and science. The textbook also supplements and augments the course materials provided to students enrolled in the UNENE M.Eng. The textbook is provided free of charge in pdf format.
- Reactor Drawings Wonderful wall chart drawings of nuclear reactors as published in Nuclear Engineering International, collected and reproduced by the University of New Mexico.
CNA Education Resources The Nuclear Science Technology High School Curriculum Website is a tool developed to explain nuclear energy to the public and specifically to students from grades 9–12. The website includes fact sheets, instructional media, videos, animations explaining scientific information, games, electronic publications and other resource materials. More than 50 lesson plans , classroom activities, project descriptions and question and answer sheets will be made available to teachers through their respective Ministries of Education. The modules focus on eight key areas: Canada's Nuclear History, Atomic Theory, What is Radiation?, Biological Effects of Radiation, World Energy Sources, Nuclear Technology at Work, Safety in the Nuclear Industry, and Career information.

Cameco Uranium 101 - This looks at the uranium mining industry, its major players, and demonstrates how uranium fits into the nuclear fuel cycle. It also helps you understand at a basic level what uranium is, what radiation is, how nuclear energy compares to other forms of power, and how uranium is being mined safely throughout the world.

- CANDU desktop simulator by CTI SImulation International - Nice! This is the simulator used in the McMaster University course Engineering Physics 6P03 and UNENE UN0801 (Nuclear Power Plant Systems and Operation).
- Radiation Safety Information Computational Cente (RSIC) - Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Hundreds of industry standard nuclear codes.
- The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) Databank is a specialised agency within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and development (OECD), an intergovernmental organisation of industrialised countries, based in Paris, France. Codes listed here are not available to Canada and US since the codes are available through RSIC (see above).
- T-2 Nuclear Information Service - This service is run by Group T-16 (Nuclear Physics) of the Theoretical Division of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, which is operated by the University of California for the US Department of Energy. Contains reactor physics codes, data and educational tours.
